Supertraxx breaks new ground in S. Korea festival scene

In a sign of the steady growth of South Korea’s festival scene, SuperTraxx, the country’s first pop/urban/R&B-themed outdoor event, takes place Aug. 5 at Pentaport Dream Park in Incheon.
Acts set to appear at the festival include Grammy nominee B.o.B, Drunken Tiger, T (Yoon Mirae), Taeyang, GD&TOP of Big Bang and miss A.
The event is being held “to show support for" the IAAF World Championships in Athletics, which take place in Daegu, South Korea, Aug. 27-Sept. 4.
SuperTraxx’s lead sponsor is Toyota, which is also supporting the IAAF championships.
“One of the key aims of SuperTraxx is to build awareness and reinforce the positive messages that are part of a global sports competition to a young audience,” says David Flack, chief creative officer at Singapore-based Supertraxx organizer Noise Associates. “Music in an outdoor festival setting is without a doubt the strongest way to connect to that audience.”
