Sony Japan opens YouTube channel

Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) opened an official channel on the YouTube Japan site on Nov. 9, becoming the last major Japanese label to make its videos available on the video-sharing website. 

“We expect YouTube will serve as a bridge between artists and fans,” Sony said in a statement. 

As with all content partnerships on YouTube, there is a revenue-sharing agreement between Sony and YouTube Japan for any advertising income from ads on Sony's channel or video pages. The majority of the revenues will go to Sony.
